Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort Raises Over $50,000 In First Annual Golf Tournament To Benefit Ronal McDonald House and SRMT Community Partnership Fund

In the wind and rain, nearly 100 golfers teed off for a cause on Thursday June, 14th at Highland Green Golf Course. Participants came from near and far to golf in the AMCR First Annual Charity Golf Tournament and with their generous support helped raise over $50,000!

The Ronald McDonald House is a “home away from home” for families with sick children. The house provides a comfortable space to sleep, warm meals and amenities for laundry, internet and fully stocked kitchen. Of the Ronald McDonald House’s 300 guests last year, 65% were from upstate New York primarily from St. Lawrence and Franklin counties. Their $10 nightly rate is more than some families can afford during their loved one’s illness.

The St. Regis Mohawk Community Partnership Fund provides financial support to the residents of Akwesasne, whether it be for transportation to and from hospitals or funeral assistance. The partnership also provides financial support to non-profit organizations, athletic associations, individual sports teams, the fire department and cultural groups.
