Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort Celebrates Its 25th Anniversary

The Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort proudly announces its 25th anniversary, marking a quarter-century of unparalleled entertainment, hospitality, and commitment to the Akwesasne Mohawk community and its guests.

Since its inception in 1999, Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort, an entity owned by the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe, has served as a center of excitement. In 1999, property offerings included 90 table games, one buffet, a small bar and lounge, and no video gaming or slot machines. After much success over the years, in 2010, AMCR increased its offerings to over 1,000 slot machines and added Maple Steak & Ale, a fine dining restaurant.

Growth continued, and from 2011 – 2013, expansions included a 150-room hotel, spa, pool, fitness room, RV park, banquet space, and expansion that brought the gaming floor to over 140,000 square feet. Cedars Coffee, Cascades Lounge, 134 Canadian machines, a Grab & Go venue, and expanded seating at the Mohawk Bingo Palace have since been added as well. In March of 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic closed the property, but since reopening fully without restrictions in 2022, AMCR has thrived and even acquired the adjacent hotel, now the “Players Inn.”

From its humble beginnings to its current status as a premier entertainment destination, the resort has continuously evolved to exceed the expectations of its visitors while staying true to its roots.

To commemorate this significant milestone, Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort will host a series of special events and promotions throughout the month. Join in the celebration by playing the $60K Bucks & Bronco giveaway, where you could win cash or a brand-new Ford Bronco! On April 9, they’ll have complimentary anniversary poker chips and cupcakes, and the regular Tuesday 15X entry multiplier will be 25X instead! Plus, they also have Akwesasne community FREE bingo on April 10. Help them celebrate all their associates, whose dedication and commitment make a difference every day.

In a tribute to dedication, service, and commitment to guest satisfaction, AMCR will honor its long-standing associates of over 25 years with a celebration at Maple Steak & Ale. The event will honor six individuals who began their AMCR careers at the Mohawk Bingo Palace, which approaches its 39th anniversary, and 21 associates who have been with the casino since its doors first opened.

“We are thrilled to celebrate 25 years of success, growth, and community partnership,” said Scott Freeman, General Manager of Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort. “This milestone is a testament to the unwavering support of our guests, team members, and the entire Akwesasne Mohawk community. We look forward to continuing to serve as a premier entertainment destination for years to come.”

The St. Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Chief Michael Conners Jr. expressed his sentiments, stating, “We take great pride in the people who have shaped the identity of AMCR and look proudly to the future prosperity of the resort as an integral element of our community and economic framework. Over the course of 25 years, Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort has upheld its dedication to community support and holds the distinction of being the primary employer in the region.”
