Career Growth in Action: New Journeyworkers Graduate at the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort

The Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort is thrilled to announce a major milestone for our team! We are incredibly proud to celebrate the graduation of Donna Roberts and Sianna Gabriel from the Housekeeper Apprenticeship Program, conducted in a partnership with the New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL).

Mastering a trade requires grit and dedication. To reach this point, Donna and Sianna completed 2,000 hours of intensive on-the-job training, covering commercial, residential, and industrial cleaning standards. Their hard work has officially earned them Journeyworker status, the professional hallmark of a master in their trade.

(L-R): Jodie Pelkey (Housekeeping Manager), Sheila King (HR Director), Donna Roberts, Charlotte LaFrance (Director of Hotel Operations), and Megan Cooke (Hotel Operations Manager).

In addition to their new titles, both graduates have received a Certificate of Completion from the NYSDOL. This is not just a piece of paper; it is a federally recognized, industry-standard credential that validates their expert skills nationwide.
